The valve retains a constant water level in the tank and prevents it from overflowing by means of a float control valve. It is additionally equipped with a pilot to prevent the pressure on the inlet from falling below the desired minimum value. In this way, filling of the tank only takes place if the pressure in the water supply system is at a sufficiently high level.
